GDL racing all set for Gulf 12 hours
With only few days remaining to the Gulf 12 Hours green light scheduled this coming weekend 13/14 December, GDL Racing unveils more details about its participation in the Emirates’ race where it is set to field two different cars.
At the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo will be Gabriele Murroni, who already raced in the Asian one-make series open to the Sant’Agata Bolognese’s cars with the team led by Gianluca De Lorenzi. The Monegasque will share the duties with the other Italian drivers Mario Cordoni and Angelo Negro.
At the Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit, American Jim Michaelian and the local Mohammed Al Gafar – who already entered the Gulf 12 Hours in 2018 with the De Lorenzi’s team and is set to race with GDL Racing in the 2020 Porsche Carrera Cup Suisse Championship – will share a Porsche Cup 991 car.
Alongside them Macedonian Risto Vukov Riko makes his first appearance with GDL Racing, looking forward his next year’s commitment in the Carrera Cup Italia.
The first free practice session will kick off the Gulf 12 Hours on Thursday 12. Free practice are scheduled the following day, together with the three qualifying sessions. The race will consist in two 6-hour part. The first one gets underway on Saturday morning at 9.30, while the last stint starts at 17.30.
